WHAT COUNTS IS THE ABSORPTION – NOT THE CONCENTRATION OF CURCUMIN
Curcumin, the active ingredient of turmeric, is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. However,
1/ Curcumin levels in dry turmeric powder are only between 2 to 5%
2/ Curcumin is very poorly absorbed into the body.
It has been demonstrated that pure curcumin is not absorbed into the blood for doses up to 8 grams per day, i.e., the equivalent of over 200 grams of turmeric powder. (Lao 2006)
